My daughter, Alyssa, was first diagnosed with B-Cell ALL in December 2018. Aly rang the bell signifying her end of treatment for ALL in February 2021. She walked away stronger and braver than anyone could have imagined.
After 2.5 years of relative peace Alyssa’s Leukemia has relapsed.
She is going to have to go through lot of the same type of treatments that she went through last time. Yet this time already feels very different. (Everything seems a little more intense.)
We are completely shocked and heartbroken that she has to go through again.
Her diagnosis was confirmed yesterday, on her birthday and she had to go through a long crazy day of treatment and had a new port put in as well (Happy Birthday!) She had to get a new port put in as well because the one that was put in got infected. She is now starting her next round of chemo and will have to go in every day next week for 6 hour each day. This will be a long two year battle.
Our entire family, especially ALY, would love to thank John Shapiro Superheroes! This will help us with so much when it comes to tolls, gas and food while we are there during Aly’s treatment. Truly thank you so much we hope to pay it forward one day to a family that is going through what we are. Thank you so much again for the bottoms of our hearts!!!
