Have you ever wanted to be a Superhero? Well, here’s your chance.

On Saturday, June 10, 2017, the Saint Helena community in Blue Bell will host the 5th Annual Superheroes 5K in memory of John Shapiro.  We invite you to join us as a sponsor of the race – and discover your inner superpower.

This event was created in honor of a truly extraordinary boy named John Shapiro.  Despite an aggressive brain tumor, John always had a smile on his face and was willing to help wherever and however he could.  He is remembered by so many he touched in the community – parents, teachers, friends, classmates, firefighters, police officers – for always being kind, outgoing, funny and brave. His motto was “love everybody and be happy” – words to which all of us can relate and aspire.

John’s bravery inspired thousands of people to participate in the first three years of the race, to help raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer.  Last year alone, the race had more than 1,000 registered participants and more than 100 volunteers, while raising over $52,000.  All proceeds from the race directly benefit local families with children battling cancer through the public charity that bears John’s name.

We’d like you to honor John’s memory and become a superhero by helping to sponsor the race and continue its success.  Enclosed are materials that outline sponsorship opportunities at varying levels for you to consider. If you have any questions or ideas about how you can support the race, please do not hesitate to contact either one of us.

Your participation may not make you able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, but it will provide hope and relief for a local family who has a little superhero of their own fighting cancer. And that’s a superpower worth sharing.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Respectfully yours,

Colleen Corace Connor                               Ann Winkowski
